I am so angry and sad about this. Draconian staff cuts at KYUK in Bethel are an incalculable loss for the region and indeed all of Alaska. #AlaskaSky #PublicRadio

Wow look what happens when you don't vaccinate your fucking kids.
SCOOP: CDC officials on Monday linked for the first time the measles outbreak that began in Texas with another in Utah and Arizona, a finding that could end America’s status as a nation that has eliminated measles.

Two years and it still feels like yesterday. It hasn't gotten easier. I still cry regularly. I still say goodbye to your urn before leaving on vacation. I still panic if I cannot immediately find the ring that holds your fur after I shower. I miss you, Eliza, every bit as much as I did back then.

My dad has managed to turn 39 every year since 1997, and what do you know, he's done it again! Happy birthday dad, crazy to think I'll be older than you in a few years! 😉

It's just very hard to go about my day knowing that I've probably got six weeks left of health insurance and then my pain will go unmedicated and when my gallbladder starts acting up like it absolutely will given my family history that will just be the end for me and I will die.

Pillars would be more noticeable if the clouds weren't blocking the bottom, but I'm never going to complain about getting this view in any capacity.

How to pay for this? The moral thing to do is to tax the corporations who cause climate change. Change the tax structure for corporations that profit off of Alaskas oil and gas putting Alaskans at risk. #akleg
After last month’s devastating storm in Western Alaska, an Alaska Native nonprofit is pushing for the creation of a regionally centered approach to disaster preparation and reaction, as well as more law enforcement resources.

Just because I'm *not* texting you every time they're visible.
Some people in my life need to learn what "gatekeeping" means. No I am not gatekeeping the Northern Lights from you just bc I'm texting you every time they're visible and bc I don't want to spend the time they're visible walking you through camera settings bc you didn't think to do it ahead of time.

Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory: Democrats 2025
The centrists in the Senate Democratic caucus saw that the country was rallying to the party in the 2025 elections and resolved that they would do anything they could to kill that momentum.

We get a pinky promise with fingers crossed behind their backs and they get what they initially wanted on September 30th.

And all it took was having to *gasp* work a weekend.
I may or may not have screamed at the live TV senate floor: you're caving for nothing! They went around you to get us in this mess to begin with! They'll go around you again!

Two of the yes votes are retiring, and the others aren't up for reelection for three more years.
The Democrats are going to have such a revolt from their own people that they're not even going to understand. I just can't. I'm so angry and disappointed.

People want Dems to fight. Not cave. But they just keep caving.

More signups! Last year's winner Martin Massicotte, plus Quince Mountain, Bucky Tippett, and Nathan Schroeder!
So far five mushers (possibly a 6th sign up soon?) for the UP200. I really hope the weather cooperates and it can happen again this year.
