Climate scientist at DMI, modelling all kind cool stuff over the Antarctic and Greenlandic domain.
New paper out in #TheCryosphere about #Antarctic perennial #firn aquifers in the 21st century.
By using a #XGBoost #emulator we use a ensemble of 12, with different scenarios, RCMs and GCMs.

Emulating the expansion of Antarctic perennial firn aquifers in the 21st century
Abstract. Perennial firn aquifers (PFAs) are year-round bodies of liquid water within firns, which modulate meltwater runoff to crevasses, potentially impacting ice-shelf and ice-sheet stability. Rece...

The PolarRES dataset: a state-of-the-art regional climate model ensemble for understanding Antarctic climate
Abstract. Antarctica's weather and climate have global impacts, influencing weather patterns, ocean currents and sea levels worldwide. However, Antarctica is vast and complex, and the atmospheric proc...

New paper in @natgeosci.nature.com
The Greenlandification of Antarctica showing how the #Antarctic climate is mirroring climate in #Greenland.
That's what I would call a hot topic for a cold place.

The Greenlandification of Antarctica - Nature Geoscience
Climate and ice sheet processes in Antarctica increasingly reflect those observed earlier in Greenland. Applying process insights from Greenland can improve projections of future Antarctic ice and climate behaviour.
