I’m sure the multi-national colleagues at Telford’s Princess Royal Hospital really appreciate the sudden outbreak of ‘patriotism’ on the entrance to the hospital, as they enter and leave work each day, taking care of the flag raisers family and friends.
Nigel Farage says this summer’s movement was led by ‘ordinary people’ expressing their patriotism. That’s not what we found...

Maybe not then…
Miserable being a Wolves fan right now. Writing this hoping it will come back and bite me on the arse in 45 mins time
HALF-TIME
FULHAM 1-0 WOLVES
Another desperately poor display from Wolves compounded by the red card. Fans sing for Andre and Joao Gomes as the platers make their way across the pitch for the break. Gomes waves back. #WWFC

Building and maintaining trust even when things aren’t going well.

As we enter a refreshed period of regulatory oversight (NHS Oversight Framework 2025/26), is there an opportunity to build trust and confidence through improved relationships and trust?

Our latest chart gives food for thought as we look towards the release of the NHS ten-year plan.

Govt wants to shift more care into the community, but there's been a worrying decline in district nurses - a staff group that would be crucial to achieving this aim.

"Ten years ago, we would have never accepted old ladies being on corridors next to an (emergency) department for hours on end and they have become normal in the NHS...We’ve got to get ourselves out of that, and everybody wants to get out of it.”

So great to see #EatDrinkDressMove advice appear in this context too! Not only important to remain active as part of hospital inpatient recovery, but vital for aging and living well for longer 1/2

Interesting research @juleslewis7.bsky.social .
Still lots to do to help those who are in their last year or life, to stay at home if they wish to
Our research found that for every £5 of public funds spent on health care for people in their last year of life, £4 was spent in hospital - with £2.80 of that on emergency hospital care, despite ambitions to shift more care from hospital to communities.

Read the report. 👇
Public expenditure in the last year of life
Supporting people at the end of life is a crucially important element of public spending, yet there is remarkably little evidence available on how much money is being spent on it, and what that money…
