I was NOT a Christian when this happened. I don't cancel culture because we've all sinned and fallen short of God's glory and I belive in grace/forgiveness. We all need JESUS.
FYI: I have never "hated" Trapt. I was just against the lead singer's attitude. I used to be that way as well back in the days, so it would be hypocrtical for me to condemn Chris. We as Christians should show love and grace while at the same time warn people about consequences of sin.

It’s easy to dehumanize a group of people if you’ve never known any of them. Much harder after forming friendship and relationships. In the end, we are all sinful human beings created after God’s image.
