This week two legal judgements, concerning employers based in Scotland, have shown that employers are not obliged to exclude trans people from facilities that align with their gender.

Louder for people in the back: the court rules trans women are not prevented from using women's spaces. Also your weekly reminder from a business school professor that trans status is still a protected category under the Equalities Act (2010).
The kind of judgement the media could easily trumpet as "TRANS WOMEN ARE NOT PREVENTED FROM USING WOMEN'S SPACES, COURT RULES."

But instead they lead with the complainant (regarded by the Tribunal as an unreliable witness) winning some procedural issues against her employer.
Decision in the Sandie Peggie case.

She was not directly or indirectly discriminated against, her claim of victimisation fails entirely, her claim of harassment fails largely and her claim against Beth Upton fails entirely. www.judiciary.uk/judgments/sa...

Oh this was good.

"Whilst the claimant argued that Ms Forstater was not presented as an expert witness, in our view that is
essentially what she was doing. She was giving evidence on matters of opinion dressed up as matters of fact."

Overall, they conclude:

"It may be lawful to grant permission to a trans person to use the changing room that aligns with the sex and gender they identify as having, dependent on the circumstances."

Quite contrary to what anti-trans campaigners have been arguing FWS means - isn't it?

I don't feel welcome when I go past rows of flags put up by fascists, that nobody has dared take down. And I was born not fifty miles from where I sit.
The chief horror is the rewriting of the human rights gains we've made since WWII to frame only 'contributing' migrants (whether asylum seekers or not) as worthy of life & safety.

But I'm also here to call BS on the 'Britain welcomes high-skilled migrants' thing. I do not feel welcome here.
This is so disgusting.

Human lives have value, and it’s urgent that we do everything that we can to preserve them

even if they don’t contribute to capitalism.

I would say: I can’t believe we’ve forgotten this basic concept, but I wonder if we, as a society, broadly understood– that is to say power – ever understood it.
This is so disgusting.

Not a new thought, but bears repeating, the division of people into "givers" and "takers" is disgusting, dehumanising, and plain wrong. We are interdependent, and at different times provide and need different support, much of which is not covered by paid work. The ideology of this ad is fascistic.
This is so disgusting.

I think Transactual put it best (in reference to the girl guides) and now Labour too:

"There is no problem being solved here, only harm being done."

All to appease the right, who hate them anyway - shame on them.
