One of my favorite books and movies. I ugly 😭 through most of the movie and was a complete mess by the end. Such a beautifully done film with fantastic acting by Anthony Hopkins, John Hurt and Anne Bancroft. Loved the B&W cinematography and score which added to the wonderful nuance of the film.

Still not seeing it. It would be different if her parents were in a toxic marriage, I could see her emulating that dynamic. However, she was shown the opposite with Anita and Vernon who are very loving towards one another, treat each other well and support eachother. I do get the young aspect.🤔

I don't get the appeal w/Bill. He cheated on Dani repeatedly and 🚮 her away like 🗑 for his daughters so-called BFF. He antagonized Dani for months and the ONLY reason he is circling back (while still married) is because Dani is with Andre and happy. He hasn't atoned at all for his treatment of her.
