There was this thing that adopters and pro-adoption people would say to adoptees on twitter (picture a wagging finger): “Stop saying you ‘are’ adopted. You *were* adopted.”

this… seems like as good a time as any to point out that every adoption book in my library’s children’s collection, with the exception of Colin Kaepernick’s, is written either by adopters or from the adopters’ point of view. 🥚

If there is a book aimed at #adopted kids that is not clearly designed to reaffirm the basic goodness of adoption—and therefore to serve a clear indoctrinating purpose—I would like to know what it is.

He's basically saying all men have raped someone at some point in their lives. Literally he's saying you'all men are a just a bunch of rapists, and it's not a big deal, and everyone (and he means women) should just calm down and accept this because money is more important.

Adoption shouldn't be easier. It should be fucking hard. Adopters should have to jump through flaming hoops for miles. We are talking about a baby, who has rights, and one of those rights is to not be sold in the human equivalent of a puppy mill. 🥚
