Remarkably unremarkable.
The invidious replacement of fried bread by hash browns is, for me at least, wholly symptomatic of England's decline.
First thing we did upon landing in Manchester was go get a full English and it’s so beautiful I take back everything bad I’ve said about British food this slapped

Apparently it’s 10 years today since I discovered that adding googly eyes to the tap on a wine box makes it look like Shaun the Sheep.

Thanks for the reminder @janemunday.bsky.social. Every summer, I repost this article DROWNING DOES NOT LOOK LIKE DROWNING. To date, I know of FOUR kids who were saved after someone who'd clicked on the link learnt how to spot actual drowning. Take time to read and pass on.

Drowning Doesn’t Look Like Drowning
Drowning is not the violent, splashing call for help that most people expect.

Chucked off the train at Newcastle because a tree blocks the line North to Berwick where I was supposed to be picked up. Don’t suppose anyone happens to be driving from Newcastle to Melrose and can give me a lift?

The best thing that happened today was walking past a hedge, and accidentally disturbing a family of freshly fledged blue tits. They all fluttered around and chirped in alarm and then vanished again.

One of my favorite Bible stories is the one where that leper came to Jesus asking for healing and Jesus said why bother "we all are going to die."

Every year on Memorial Day, I share this video of French caretakers who take sand from Omaha Beach in Normandy, and scrub them into the letters to give them the gold coloring.

They do this for all 9,386 US soldiers who died.

France also gave us this land as American soil.

This is a hell of a fascinating thread. Remember, real science and history is was weirder and cooler then any conspiracy theory.
OK, this is wild.

In September 2023, geophysicists across the world started monitoring a very odd signal coming from the ground under them.

It was picked up in the Arctic. And Antarctica. It was detected everywhere, every 90 seconds, as regular as a metronome, for *nine days*.

What the HELL?

Just lifted the toilet lid and discovered a fly in there. Obviously going to have to put a spider in the toilet to deal with the fly situation but I'm a bit worried about the escalation. Where would I even purchase a horse in this economy?

I remember a Sunday morning in March shooting clays and the hares were so busy being mad, they were running round the field we were shooting in.
I don't think any decent sportsman/woman would think this unreasonable.
