"We cannot keep pretending that JobSeeker is an interim payment for a couple of weeks just to get people over a bad patch," Chambers said.
📢 A new report has painted a grim picture of Australia's employment system, calling on the federal government to urgently intervene.

"Given that anyone can apply for entry-level jobs and more people were taking on extra work due to the cost of living, there was likely "greater competition than even we are measuring"

The "fair go" is dead. Albanese governs a nation where billionaires buy yachts the size of suburbs while families sleep in cars. Welfare isn’t safety... it’s punishment. Poverty is the new infrastructure.

I’m astounded by how many Australians are up for accepting lower standards of living because the people they elected and pay tell them it’s required.

An Australian company supplies "over 700 highly technical parts to ensure the fighter is mission-ready, anytime and anywhere."

I'm sure the senator can detail the list of parts.

Maybe the only lethal parts of the F35 are the ordnance. The rest of it is just a soft, cuddly ordnance delivery system.
Wong is claiming Australia only sells Israel non-lethal parts of the F-35.

Non-lethal parts of the F-35....

'Gacy's right hand did all the killing - his left foot, and the other non-lethal parts of Gacy, should be exonerated.'

Argue it at the ICJ, Penny, you're digging a hole.

Would the F-35 work without the non-lethal parts? If it wouldn't, then they're not really non-lethal, whatever our weaselly Foreign Minister says. If it would, why do the people who make F-35s want them? Are we just making the furry dice or something?

5. Remember this, next time you are tempted to dismiss environmental protesters, or campaigners against the genocide in Gaza or anyone else risking their liberty for the sake of others. Breaking the law doesn't make them bad. In some cases it means they are the very best of people.

May 17 marks the date in 1990 that homosexuality was removed from the WHO Classification of Diseases.

LGBTQIA people don’t have something ‘wrong’ with them, but a lot of attitudes and structures in this society continue to communicate that. What can you do to help?

“But air pollution alone kills an estimated 8.1 million people yearly, before we even consider airborne infectious diseases like COVID-19, tuberculosis, measles and flu.”

The first printed recipe for a biscuit with “Anzac” in the title. Neither oats nor coconut were included. The recipe called for eggs, rice flour, cinnamon and mixed spice, and the baked biscuits were sandwiched together with jam and topped with icing.

The origin story of the Anzac biscuit is largely myth – but that shouldn’t obscure the history of women during the war
The Anzac biscuit is a cultural icon, invented after the first world war. But women still provided necessities and small comforts to the ANZACs.
