Loosen those buckles and allow yourself to enjoy a meal. Don’t allow those negative thoughts around food to dominate your mind. Food is fuel for your body and it is ok to eat. It is ok to enjoy it. You don’t need to earn food by skipping meals. Food is energy for you to live.

In my studio we celebrate Tummy Tuesday, and tummy 24/7 365 (unless it’s a leap year and then 366). We never take a day off celebrating bodies in their infinite manifestations round these parts. Get out there and let your tummy just exist. Life is short don’t let other people steal your magic.

It may be monochrome Monday but we celebrate all bodies and all genders everyday of the week in my studio. Creating space for trans and gender nonconforming people has been a core principle of mine. I think it is vital that we document all cross-sections of the human experience.

It’s ok to let your body rest. You can put down the weight of all these expectations you thrust upon your body. You are allowed to be at a state of rest. You don’t need to treat rest and relaxation as a reward.

There was a time I carried immense shame around my body and sex. It was this thing that wasn’t talked about and was treated as this thing to be ashamed of. Finding peace in my body and self image and healing from sexual repression allowed me to really learn who I am in all aspects of myself.

Exploring self love and working through all the stigma and shame around sex can be scary and cathartic. But the healing that can come from it when you allow the shame to melt away, it’s life changing.

Take time to rest. It’s ok for you to not always be productive and hurrying about. Your mental wellbeing is vital to both mental and physical health. Allow yourself space to just exist without expectation.
