Finally found a way to sew patches on the kids' pants using my sewing machine (It's a real hassle still 🥴) so I've been dabbling with making my own patches for mending.

These have also been decorated with textile paints using homemade stamps.

I've mended these trousers before, but they were due for a remend! Of course using a rocket patch to stay within the space theme 🚀 Toddler approved!

Woo! We've passed 800 writers! Welcome writer number 800, @queenllama.bsky.social! And welcome to all our 2025 writers. We've still got a few days left of pledging, so you've still got time to make a commitment to your writing life for the year.

I totally forgot to share my reading wrap-up for 2024!

Last year was the year I picked up reading again for the first time in.. Probably 10 years. Non fiction that is.

So far, I'm realising series like ACOTAR isn't for me anymore, but it did bring back my reading habit so I'm all grateful for it!

Entering this new year with a lot of optimism and hope, there's good in the air and I feel it. But it also comes with a lot of fears and worries and it's difficult to find a good balance.

I've settled on a healthy mix of all happy-go-lucky, with a few panic attacks now and then for good measure.

Another lovely sky this morning whilst walking my oldest to school and just had to capture it.

At least the incredible cold brings beautiful views!

So hey, let’s start off 2025 maybe making somebody’s life better in a small tangible way. What is a small practical thing—object, lifehack, whatever—that solved a small annoyance for you?

For me, did you know you can buy clips with elastic specifically to hold the corner of your fitted sheet on?

The sky greeted me with this truly magical sight for my evening walk with the poodle.

Despite living in Norway, we don't often experience #auroraborealis since we're a bit too far south so definitely a treat for the first day of 2025. ✨

Today marks the first day of a new year and the end of the best Yuletide celebration I've had in years.

I wanted to simply share some of my favourite moments we've had during this holiday, where everything is just quiet and comfortable and serene. Embodying #slowliving in the very best ways.

Christmas is coming up and the past few days my #Mendventcalendar has been replaced with #artadventcalendar instead since I'm wanting to have a few handmade gifts as well.

And today I crocheted a drawstring bag for my mother. It's my very first crochet 🧶 piece and I'm quite satisfied!

As someone who didn't discover microblogging until recent years, it's surprisingly difficult finding the right way to embrace it.

I love how bluesky is so unique in what it is and the communities that exist here, but I'll have to admit that it is also rather overwhelming at times 😅

I wonder if I'll ever run out of socks to patch, but they give me plenty opportunities to whip out my darning loom! So here's another one for day 18 of the #mendventcalendar 🧦

My kids always tend to wear out the knees on their pants so after a while they end up with multiple mends and patches.

Here's a bright orange one for day 17 of the #mendventcalendar 🧡

Decided to join the #GYWO community for 2025, pledging myself to at least 150k words for the coming year.

I've been wanting to prioritise my writing for a while, but it always falls shorts so now I'll have no choice but to make time for it! Let's see how this goes 🥳

It's been a few days as I've been on a trip to visit my brother, but here's day 16 of the #mendventcalendar - A pair of pants that are too small for both my kids, but I wanted to mend them before donating so that maybe it can still be used by someone new!

Day 10 of the #mendventcalendar and yet another sock mend, but this time it was just to fill out the work spots before they become full of holes!

Another day another mend for #mendventcalendar and today it's a rather quick one for some shorts that have been waiting in my closet for at least a year 😅

Day 7 and 8 of the #mendventcalendar with another patch for the toddler's sweater.

It's barely kept together at this point so not sure how long I can save it, but it's the toddler's favourite so it's worth a try!

For day 6 of #mendventcalendar I made a spiderman patch for my youngest due to the favourite sweater had a big hole on one of the arms.

I’m new to #embroidery so it’s definitely not a beauty, but my 4 year old kid loved it and has been posing with it ever since. 🙌🏻

Days like today serve as great reminders that my mind is in a much better place when I’m able to exercise my body.

With studies and exams coming up I’ve not had the time to stick to my workout-routines and my brain is a foggy, stressed out mess for it.

Now to remind myself tomorrow morning. 🙃

Day 5 of the #mendventcalendar and today I’m actually mending the very first sock I mended almost 2 years ago.

This is the third time I’m mending it and it’s so rewarding to know that it will continue to last.
