Dictators of all stripes hate solidarity. They’d prefer that we cower alone. They want us to feel powerless.

This is why I encourage you to participate in the peaceful demonstrations planned for today across America. https://robertreich.substack.com/p/april-5-hands-off-our-healthcare

Protests aren’t the only tool in the anti-authoritarian toolkit, but they’re incredibly important. Protests help us see each other; they make it feel safer to refuse to obey the dictator, and make it more possible for us to organize mass non-cooperation.

It’s an essential step in the process.

I’ve been watching ABCiview in an attempt to decentre the USA as there’s a lot of Australian and British content on there.

A word of warning if you come across a lovely 2 part series set on a Vineyard it’s S4 Ep 1 & 2 of The Split, not a standalone show.

So now, I’m catching up on S1-3 on Stan.

The result made her spit out her coffee!

One of my therapist coaching clients was disappointed with a reel - she spent ages making it & it only got 11 likes.

We talked through why it didn't work like she hoped it would based on what I know about makes content work on any platform. 1/4

I’ve set myself the challenge to stop relying on Facebook or any Meta enterprises for my business. I’m starting by no longer running Facebook ads.

The rumblings started back when I was running two large Facebook groups. I couldn’t help but think I was an unpaid content creator for Meta 1/2

I may be tired and a little hoarse, but as I said again and again on the Senate floor, this is a moment where we cannot afford to be silent, when we must speak up.

"I loved your latest podcast episode about cultic coaching communities because I'm in a coaching community at the moment", one therapist messaged me.

And here's the thing. 1/3

We are disappointed but not surprised that Meta has used millions of pirated books to develop its AI systems.

As a matter of urgency, Meta needs to compensate the rightsholders of all the works it has been exploiting.

But what can authors do? Read here:

I'm getting no reach on Instagram since they blocked my account for 24 hours and I started to wonder how I could sell the 5th round of Thrive Amplified, my coaching intensive without it.

I've just sold it out and this is how I did it. 1/2

I’m supposed to be writing my EMDRAA presentation & instead my mind is stuck on what’s the worst part of this situation a) too military leaders discussing war tactics on an app you & could use or b) inviting the wrong person to the chat.

From an operational security perspective, this is the highest level of fuckup imaginable. These people cannot keep America safe.
The Trump Administration Accidentally Texted Me Its War Plans
U.S. national-security leaders included me in a group chat about upcoming military strikes in Yemen. I didn’t think it could be real. Then the bombs started falling.

One of the things about being in private practice for a long time is that I can bump into clients I’ve seen years & years ago. Over time and as I do less 1:1 work instead of instantly recognising it’s a former client, I get the feeling like I know someone but I can’t remember how.

It’s been 5 years since the pandemic hit. The amount of online work I do is around 90% compared to about 10% pre 2020. It’s a dream to be able to work with therapists located all over the world AND a part of me finds herself wanting to work less on zoom.

Posting on social media can be anxiety provoking for therapists. but when you experience Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria it’s on a whole other level and can block using social media for your business. In this week’s podcast episode I talk through my own experience and strategies that help.

A lot of therapists are happy being 1:1 therapists. That's great because we need people out there doing the work. AND

There are therapists who want something more, don't want to do as much 1:1 therapy, need more flexible ways to make money because they can work 1:1 anymore

My move away from relying on 1:1 therapy began by being coached to use traditional launch strategies.

It goes something like this
Create lead magnet -> host free event -> sell into group coaching program

It works AND I didn’t like it.

As much as therapists love to listen to my podcast, the title of the episode determines how much it gets listened to.

It’s a lot like content as a whole- the best content won’t get read if it doesn’t hook people’s attention.
It won’t convert if you don’t hook the right people’s attention.

Introverted therapist & hate engaging on other people's social media accounts as a strategy?

Guess what you don't have to do.

Here's what you can do instead

1. Run an ad. A good ad it such a time and energy saver.

2. Learn to create organic content that hooks the right people's attention.
