Making your content and information accessible is viewed as a nice thing to do. And it is.

But this World Kindness Day, we wanted to remind everyone that access to information is a human right. We shouldn't need to keep asking for it, it's simply how it should be.

Pineapple bookmark, in the end. Not too sure about the tail but ran out of time for anything else.

Crocheted w/ Anchor Perle #8, and 2mm hook (thank you new hooks!).

[Blocked, blocking (appropriately enough using pins previously for bobbin lace which I've not done for yrs), and before blocking.]

My brain is mush after today's excursion but, yay 😊

The Last Pebble is the first book I've managed to finish since becoming ill 🥹 Got to have a really nice chat with Alex Horne this time. He's somehow even lovelier than I realised.

Trains and staff all being great were a fantastic bonus!

Why is it so hard to photograph crochet without the stitches blurring into each other?!

[Scrappy test pineapple, but I forgot bookmarks are supposed to have a tail of some kind. (And I haven't dealt with the ends yet, clearly.)]

The NHS 10-year plan means more eye health services will be delivered by opticians and other community providers.

Take our survey so we can understand what you currently go to your opticians for, and how you’d feel about accessing more services there in the future surveymonkey.com/r/3ZVW5Q3

Recently the water from our taps has been coming out aerated (which is fine, it calms down after a bit). But it's very unnerving hearing my water bottle, or water I've drawn to refill my little kettle, fizzing! 🙈

Just realised in words that I need 3-5 days to get into the mindset of needing to do something significant (such as responding to a message in depth, or washing my hair) if it's not an event in my routine. Longer if it's a bigger deal like going out.

That's some major inertia 😅

If sellers on eBay are clearly businesses but registered as a private seller, I won't buy from them.

Similarly on Etsy, I won't buy from sellers drop-shipping mass-produced stuff masquerading as 'handmade', nor from anyone using AI-generated designs.

[Serious? Not sure. Pretty niche though.]
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

Was just thinking how remarkable it is that the same series that gave us the teeth (yes, *those* ones) also gave us the twins. Then I remembered it also gave us teat-suckling … and we're only halfway through.

Wow.

1st hook that arrived: 'oh yes, that's MUCH better.'

2nd hook (cheaper of the two) that arrived later: 'WOW!'
… Followed in a short while by '🤯 I never knew it was supposed to be this easy!!'

I am stunned, thrilled, elated, and a tiny bit confused about how it can be such a huge difference!
Also reached a tipping point realising I need to try better hooks. Always struggled with slip stitching and thought my tension was too tight or it was the yarn or whatever - well both of those are sorted and it's still extremely difficult, so ordered a couple of reputable hooks to try.

Craftsman blaming her tools and all that, but a yarn winder has just blown my mind and taken me back to all the ill-advised decisions I've made with yarn, creative solutions turning out to very much Not Work. Now I understand why it's good to have one even for just occasional use.

Ladybirds swarming today! I've never seen so many all at once in real life.

Alas they do all seem to be various types of Harlequin, from the casings I've seen and the size of them all, not our native beetles :/

Really eerie to hear sirens on the motorway* and then realising there's no other traffic noise.

[*Near our house; there was a noise abatement thingy done years and years ago so it's not terrifically loud, but there is usually a background hum.]

Just realised that this is the first time in wearing glasses (i.e. since early childhood) that my eyes are roughly the same prescription (-6/-6.75; there always used to be about 1.5-2D difference between them). So, thanks covid, I guess?

Managed to snag a paid ticket instead - double eek!

Broke out the new compression stockings for it,~fancy~ 😄
I … have a free ticket for Friday afternoon's Taskmaster recording!
Doubt I'll get in but I enjoy being in London enough that it'll be fine if/when I don't … the waiting will be the killer (and the early morning, for me) but, eek!
