RTDNA is proud to be a signatory on this letter. Whenever a journalist is attacked, the ultimate victims are the people that journalist serves.
The targeting of reporters in LA is inexcusable. The public interest in press coverage of protests couldn’t be more self-evident.

We helped lead this letter to remind federal officers of journalists’ constitutional right to report on civil unrest.

All of us at @rtdna.bsky.social are mourning the loss of this giant - in sports, in business & because of his philanthropy to the RTDNA Foundation. Because of George, and his close ties to our foundation's founder, Barney Oldfield, dozens of journalism students have received scholarships. #RIP

Public access to SCOTUS would be guaranteed if only the court would abandon its 1940s-era rule prohibiting live audiovisual coverage of oral arguments. Please, justices, join the rest of us in the 21st Century.
NEWS: SCOTUS is starting an online lottery today for public seating for arguments. Announced as a pilot program beginning with February 2025 arguments, it will start, at least, as a hybrid system — with some public seats being via the lottery and some in the traditional in-person line.
