Absolutely devastating study released last week on North American pollinator biodiversity: "We assessed the extinction risk of nearly 1,600 species of vertebrate and insect pollinators and found that more than one in five species is at risk of extinction."

This morning - zero rain in the forecast. Late afternoon - 100% chance of rain and T-storms tonight. I've noticed sudden changes in the forecast for awhile now, well before the NOAA and NWS cuts. Am I just experiencing climate bias or is local short term forecasting less reliable?

Any guesses how many birds and mammals are killed on the road every year?

"Estimates can reach to 340 million of birds killed on the roads in USA, 194 million birds, 29 million mammals in Europe and 17 million of birds and mammals in Latin America"

Nebraska farmers love to complain about socialism.

Says this Nebraska farmer: "...in 2020... we were subsidized by the government... it ended up being a very profitable year for farmers."

Sounds a lot like socialism to me. No self-awareness at all. Makes me livid

Highly highly recommend following @andreapitzer and tuning into her Degenerate Art YT channel and newsletter for practical insights in how ordinary people can successfully fight authoritarianism. She literally wrote the book on concentration camps - One Long Night.
One of the hardest things to accept when governments ramp up oppression is how many people are complicit and how many more are cowards. But a lot of cowards can be turned back from their worst selves over time through anti-authoritarian momentum and social pressure.

Your great-grandchildren might live to witness global temperatures reach 7C even if we manage to limit CO2 emissions 🧪

The odds of such extreme warming are roughly 1 in 10 in a "moderate" emissions scenario, the researchers estimate #climate

Even moderate CO2 emissions could lead to 7°C of warming by 2200
There's a small chance of very high warming even with moderate future emissions, according to a computer model exploring what could happen in the next thousand years
