Nah, wrong framing. If we invested heavily and made public transport more reliable, efficient and comprehensive (as well as free), we could rid ourselves of the need for most people to even need resource-heavy electric cars.

Nah, wrong framing. If we invested heavily and made public transport more reliable, efficient and comprehensive (as well as free), we could rid ourselves of the need for most people to even need resource-heavy electric cars.

One year's worth of car payments on that vehicle would buy my "elitist" Urban Arrow, which handles all local errands, costs virtually nothing after the initial investment, doesn’t tear up infrastructure, and won’t obscure a small child from view before running them over.
