This is f*cked up.

Awarding $5M to the family of Ashli Babbitt is a disgrace to the memory of those who defended democracy on Jan 6th.

It dishonors Capitol Police, Metropolitan Police, and especially those who lost their lives or were severely injured protecting the peaceful transfer of power.

Did staffing cuts at weather service affect Kentucky’s tornado response?
Due to staffing shortages, the National Weather Service in Jackson no longer has overnight staff. But NWS and Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear say the office was staffed Friday night and early Saturday.

Cato has published my comprehensive review of the ~240 Venezuelans the US government renditioned 2 months ago to Salvador’s notorious prison. We identified FIFTY who came legally, never violated any immigration law, but are imprisoned at the US government’s request and at US taxpayer expense.

The insecurity of right-wing men, the fact that they know they fall short of their own (sadistically and narcissistically based) definitions of 'masculinity', is a huge component of their behavior – their displaced aggression toward women, LGBTQ, toward people of color – and toward Democracy itself.

W/no smell or sign of substance use, state trooper, Jennifer Albuja misinterpreted Rhines’ failure to respond to commands as intoxication, but Rhines had facial drooping & signs of a stroke.
