My first in person 'Parents Evening' (not a fan of the title) in over five years, reminded me how important building those relationships with families are to drive outcomes; probably more now than ever. That triangle just doesn't seem to be quite as effective with zoom...

Currently reading The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins - great quote 'Silence can never be misquoted'. Sometimes not saying something is more powerful. 'Let your breath be your first word' ( Jefferson Fisher) to give you that thinking time - do you always have to say anything?

Yes this. Students are engaged when they know their teacher is passionate about the subject; that positive contagion is key. Centralised planning and resources support workload but teachers should know they can adapt.
