It's a 4-meeting day, so I put a couple of personal tasks on my list and decided to take a day off from writing.

Ended up writing 3k words in between meetings and other tasks. The solo RPG is coming along nicely!

I'm writing a solo journaling RPG and I have the last 10% of the rules to write. It's amazing how much other work I can get done to justify putting off tackling this last bit! Extraneous graphic design, editing and reworking other parts, brainstorming...

Playing Cubemelt - such a delightful push-your-luck roller. Simple, cute, lots of yelling at dice. Basically perfect!

Hot debate topic from a design jam last night: Which way do the dots on the 6 go on a standard d6? Vertically or horizontally?

I didn't realize that I had such a strong opinion on this, and that my opinion was so abhorrent to others! 😄

Today I had the third conversation in a week about making fun things. What is the worth or value of that in today's landscape? I feel the pressure of making something "meaningful" to push against the horrors of the world. Something that speaks to the core of humanity. (1/3)

Playing Bomb Busters today for the first time. It’s a real winner. The last time I was this hooked into a game was The Crew. I could play this for hours non-stop.

We’ve found the best card in Wavelength and are playing it over and over. Sandwich to not sandwich. Where does lasagna fit? How about a single slice of French toast with berries on top? Best game!

Needed a burst of goodness the last couple of days, so I've been listening to the Welcome to Mountport soundtrack (Game Changer: s4ep5) on a constant loop.

It's SO GOOD. I'm singing and whistling along and it makes me gleeful at my core.

Mr. Trapp has it right. "Gray duck" is absurd. My fellow Minnesotans, we need to fix this. This isn't the thing we want to be known for.

Announcing RADDLE, my new word transformation game.

raddle.quest

It’s a twist on conventional word ladders — instead of changing one letter at each step, you’re changing the entire word based on a clue. But it’s up to you to determine which clue to use.

I’m in LA for a long weekend playing 12 escape rooms. They’ve all been good to great. But, Hope End at the Ministry of Peculiarities was transcendental. The two actors we had were absolutely brilliant. If you’re in the area, you should absolutely go. www.theministryofpeculiarities.com

My husband has a magic power. Whenever we’re at a restaurant and we’re waiting for our food to arrive, he leaves to use the restroom, and then our food arrives while I’m sitting there by myself. Every time. Without fail.

There is no LGBQ+ without the T. This is insulting. How dare they try to split queer folk up or carve out the ones that are flavor of the month. This isn't allyship - this is erasure.
‼️ The National Park Service has REMOVED mentions of transgender people being involved with Stonewall. Not only did the remove the world "Transgender" but changed "LGBTQ+" to "LGBQ+".

The federal government is attempting to erase us and take away our history.

This pride, we riot.

I don't think I've ever activated something in a video game before that has printed me something from my printer. I don't think I need that magic to happen again, but this time, it was pretty cool.

I have always had one pedantic grammar thing - less vs fewer. Today, I found another one - every vs each.

I promise to use this power only for good, and not for pedantry.

My husband and I have had a long standing (fun) argument about what constitutes a Christmas movie. He claims if it takes place during Christmas, or features Christmas iconography, it counts. I think it's wild.

Today he asked if I thought Batman Returns was a Christmas movie. Absurd. Absolutely not.
