It's seven years since we posted on Twitter about how kids kept coming into the library asking if we had any books about FORTNITE. We didn't back then, and we'd never heard of it so we tried asking what it was.

There is DEFINITELY a story here, but I kind of don’t want to know what it is as there’s no way it would be better than any of the explanations running in my imagination.

The phrase “once I am rich” sums up the core failings of the modern economy in 4 very short words.

Resource hoarding is the default goal. Not sustainability. Not a “comfortable life.“ Not even “doing a little better than my parents.”

Just being RICH & hoarding more resources than you’d ever need.

Our current economic environment centers resource consolidation—a few humans and corporations extract most resources, leaving the rest to fight for scraps.

Taxing the rich isn’t enough.

We need a wholesale rethink of our economic models and the purpose of wealth itself.

I’d never seen them move before, I’d only seen their faces, which I once heard someone describe as “the most sinister Muppet” and now? After seeing them move, yup, definitely sinister muppets.

Back in the days of 486s and 16MB of RAM, customers would call Adobe Support and mention their “Photoshop hobbies” — things they’d do while waiting for PS to render.

I now have Glaze/Nightshade hobbies. I’m getting housework done waiting for my portfolio to render.

I wish I could afford M4s.
