Banks become richer, while people become poorer. Seems on brand for trump. A person who takes one of these mortgages pays 87% more in interest than on a 30-year loan.

Trump just floated a 50-year mortgage. Is that a good idea? | CNN Business
Most first-time homebuyers in the United States take out 30-year mortgages. Under a new proposal from the Trump administration, they may soon have an even longer loan option.

I would rather we are majorly inconvenienced by air travel as long as people keep their healthcare and SNAP benefits.
Mom and I have been stuck in the Atlanta airport for 7 hours now. She has been I trooper. I, on the other hand, am exhausted and cranky.

New in PN: Dem victories you missed while celebrating Mamdani's win

"Guess everyone got tired of waiting for $2 gas & decided to skip right to transgender for everyone! But across the US, there were dozens of significant down-ballot races where Dems cleaned up in ways that bode well for the future"

Me picking up Mom at the door of the hotel:
Me: Hey little girl! Want a piece of candy? You just have to get in my car.
Mom: I'll take a piece of candy.
😂
Me: Mom, you're not supposed to take candy from strange people.
Mom: Michele, it's candy!

Congrats to everyone who put Republicans in charge "for the economy," the first three quarters of 2025 already had more layoffs than any of the years in which Biden or Obama was President except 2009 (when Dems were still cleaning up the prior Republican mess).

Mom's travel walker fits in airplane overhead compartments and under the seat. It fits under a two person restaurant booth. Amazing flight attendants and restaurant hostesses. Best $125 I've spent for travel.

I do not agree Oz.

No part of it has passed.

People are still dying of acting infection. People are suffering with Long Covid. People have no idea what this has done to our bodies for the rest of our lives.

And we have never collectively mourned.

And look at us now.

Oz, you are wrong.
Dr Oz: “I think we all agree that Covid has passed”.

No we do not agree!

Anyone who thinks Covid has passed has no business in charge of public health.

It’s still here. It’s still killing and disabling.

Get your booster if you can. Wear a mask (ideally an N95) and clean the air!

That OH lawmakers felt they had to propose this bill is scary.

"Ohio Says Nohio

Ohio lawmakers have proposed a bill that would ban people from marrying AI or robots.

The bill also says that AI systems can't own property or make legal decisions on behalf of people."

My Mom has dementia. Time change sincerely makes our lives hell for many many weeks.
It can be havoc for some people with dementia, too. My mother-in-law's medical team spent a lot of work finetuning the time for her daily seroquel dose to prevent the worst of her extreme distress associated with sundowning, so you can imagine the lack of joy with which I greeted time change season.
"researchers estimate that permanent standard time would prevent some 300,000 cases of stroke per year and result in 2.6 million fewer people having obesity."

The Walton family (who own Walmart) are worth over $400 billion, yet many of their employees are on SNAP.

Bezos is worth over $400 billion, many Amazon employees require SNAP.

The people who need help are not the problem.

It’s corporate greed. It’s an unwillingness to pay a living wage.

It’s rich that those whose salaries have not been impacted by the shutdown have the temerity to disparage those fellow citizens dependent on nutritional assistance.

I think people should not go hungry in this country. Most of us - we are all one paycheck from disaster.
