We talked about this on the @cisoseries.bsky.social Department of Know, AI is going to give us all this time back except for all the people actually working in the AI industry doesn’t really add up
Hard to believe that a few years ago there was genuine mainstream discourse about tech companies shifting to 4-day work weeks while today companies are bragging about “AI productivity gains” yet it’s all about 996.

100% for printing more photos and dye sublimation will give great quality. But this “integration” of the printer does not give me the nostalgia vibes that seemingly every other instant camera lives on. Also the paper price is in line with bulk Instax mini film.

The grips do look kinda awesome.

Anyone out there using a Qualcomm-based Windows PC for their daily driver? Curious about the experience. Had that big launch last year and then seemed like crickets. Which means they either work so well that it isn't worth commenting on or no one is actually using them. #tech

Great rec from@theverge.com I’d also throw out Sombras, a collection of Spanish post punk from the early to mid 80s. www.theverge.com/column/81741...
You need to listen to this compilation of ‘80s Spanish ambient and electronic music
La Ola Interior is an enthralling journey through hypnotic ‘80s Spanish ambient music that was overlooked in the US.

As the guy who shoots film in the family, my father-in-law asked if I could digitize some old Super 8 footage. Turns out my local library has a scanner you can borrow!

My iPod mini is now running new firmware released this year. Tried Rockbox out 15 years ago and amazed that it’s still actively developed. Cant wait to listen to all my Ogg Vobis tracks

If Apple makes a laptop around the A18, they know they have to compete with the M1 Airs floating around at around the same price used. Geekbench shows A18 faster single core than M1, about the same on multi, and worse on Metal. Assume a18 wins on battery. Works for most people I think

Using a 1st gen Surface Go with Ubuntu:
- battery life is usable, getting a few days of light usage on a charge
- most things just work after install: pen, touch screen, wi-fi, type cover
- Pen support is good, pressure sensitivity and palm rejection
- I cannot get the cameras to work at all

Had a dream I had a client meeting with the networking company Ixia, I had leveraged an appearance at #TFD and was trying to get them as a client. Except when I met with their team, I couldn't remember anything about them other than that I had a coaster with their logo. New stress dream unlocked!
