🏦 Another failed budget for young people.

Last week I highlighted the financial crisis young people are facing. This week the Government has hit them once again, targeting their pension contributions. We need growth not Labour cash grabbing! #Budget2025

Tomorrow the Government will release their budget. The Liberal Democrats have been calling for VAT cuts for hospitality to drive economic growth, restore our high streets and give the country a much-needed morale boost. #shoplocal #smallbusiness

The renewable sector is not just about the North Sea. It's about the factories and workshops in our communities and the jobs that they can bring.

That's why I asked the Government whether it will commit to supporting British manufacturing as part of our green transition. #renewables

I recently met with representatives from across the #Scottishwhisky industry.

The UK and South Korea are negotiating a new trade deal. With Korea being one of the top consumers of #Scottishwhisky any trade deal we do must put #Scottishwhisky at its heart.

Scotland’s wind farms are being PAID to switch off… because our grid can’t handle the load.

It’s already cost more than £2.1 billion this year.

If the UK wants real decarbonisation, upgrading the grid has to be at the heart of our industrial strategy. Clean power only works if we can move it.

It's disgraceful that Nigel Farage is egging Donald Trump on as he attacks the BBC and tries to pick pockets of millions of licence fee payers.

Recently I visited the Advanced Research Centre at @uofglasgow to discuss the future of their research.

The ARC is creating an environment for collaboration and co-operation which will help to ensure Scottish universities remain at the forefront of research.

Today we honour those who gave their lives to protect our freedom.

Lest we forget. #Remembrance

Our veterans put their lives on the line to protect our country, and when things go wrong they deserve the full support they need.

That’s why I spoke out against the unfair rules surrounding veteran compensation in a debate raised by Liz Jarvis MP.

This Remembrance Sunday, we honour those from our communities and across the Commonwealth who gave everything in the service of others. Their memory reminds us of the enduring value of peace and compassion. #RemembranceDay

Local businesses are not only the backbone of our economy but also central to building a strong sense of community. I was delighted to visit Elements, run by award-winning chef Gary Townsend, and to see first-hand the talent and dedication in our local community.

As a member of the Menopause APPG I was delighted to highlight our work to the Health Secretary Wes Streeting.

Throughout the past year i have taken part in the APPGs enquiries and have met with groups like Menopause Mandate to call for better access to menopause support and treatment.

I have signed Max Wilkinsons Early Day Motion, highlighting the unacceptable language used by Sarah Pochin this weekend.

The conduct of MPs reflects on all of us, and I believe that the Reform party must suspend the whip from Sarah Pochin to send a clear message that racism will not be tolerated.

Our national security requires stability. This applies to everything from the components in our fighter jets to the food on our table.

That is why I asked the Government for a meeting to discuss support for Scottish businesses impacted by Labours recent tax hikes. #Tax #NationalSecurity

Child sexual abuse is one of the most despicable crimes and I support any action that will deliver justice for victims.

That is why this morning I signed the Liberal Democrat Early Day Motion urging the Government to establish a statutory public enquiry into child sexual abuse.

I have written to the Health Secretary requesting that he uphold his promise to the Lobular Moon Shot Project and fund research into Lobular Breast Cancer. Invasive Lobular Breast Cancer will affect nearly 4 million people in the next 10 years and must be tackled. #cancersucks#LobularMoonShotProject

While I welcome the ceasefire in Gaza, humanitarian aid must reach those who need it. Food and medical supplies are the first step in easing the appalling conditions families face. I have written to the Government asking what steps they are taking to ensure aid reaches Gaza.

Small local businesses are the backbone of our economy and give our towns the character that big chains simply can’t.

That’s why, at PMQs, I asked the Prime Minister whether he really believes Labour’s recent tax hikes are making things fair for small businesses.

On Monday I gave a speech on the impact of baby loss. I wanted to highlight the hard work of Louise Caldwell who’s tireless campaigning has resulted in the creation of multiple baby loss rooms, helping many mothers and families through their trauma.

This week I and my #LiberalDemocrat colleagues have signed a joint letter by @maxwilkinsoncheltenham and @libdemvictoria to the Prime Minister opposing mandatory digital ID cards. We were at the forefront of opposing mandatory ID cards under the last Labour Government and are ready to do so again.

Alongside Mike Martin MP, I’ve written to the PM and Foreign Secretary about our constituents Margaret and Malcolm, aboard an aid flotilla to Gaza.

They face escalating threats and we’re urging the UK Government to act urgently to protect them and press Israel to safeguard all humanitarian vessels.

I spoke in the Chamber on the Employment Rights Bill, drawing on my own family’s experience with zero-hours contracts. I made the case for a system of work that is flexible, fair and secure - ensuring that everyone can access employment in a way that truly works for them.

#ArtificialIntelligence could boost productivity and growth, but experts warn of its risks without proper regulations. I asked the Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology if she will fulfill the AI Bill promised by her predecessor to ensure Britain's safety.
