- Trump saw Mamdani’s meteoric rise. He beat everyone, including him and the oligarchs.
- Mamdani ran on affordability and fighting for the working class.
- Trump doesn’t care about either but he wants to be seen as such.
- Embracing Mamdani is his way of co-opting these issues.

Trump is too amoral to care about journalists being murdered, and the Saudi Royal Mafia has the kind of power he covets. And money ... they have lots of money, and they use it to get their way. In Trump's mind he'd be a fool not to take it when he has the power to "make deals."
