I've been diagnosing a lot of flu lately. In Tokyo, the AH3 subtype (H3N2, A/Hong Kong type) appears to be predominant, with sporadic cases of AH1pdm09 (H1N1) also emerging. Mask up! 😷

I wasn't sure if this decision was district by district or as you say, a provincial decision. I suppose I'll be testing it out frequently with the numerous health issues I have.

I hope one day ALL indoor shared-air air standards will include:

HEPA filtration for airborne pathogens
CO2 monitoring for healthy "mix"
UV-C to help combat airborne pathogens
Adequate outdoor air ventilation and "rate of exchange" to adequately replenish clean air in occupied rooms.

I wear an #N95 to teach &avoided symptomatic illness this year. You can tell from the student cartoon that its a fitted #mask . I also run 3 CR boxes & my CO2 levels are usually <700ppm. While I would prefer to be unmasked, I wear this to model community care.

I wear a N95 respirator daily and run 2x HEPA air filtration machines (I think I may add a third this year.) My students likewise draw me masked because they so rarely see me unmasked (outdoor during Earth Science hike time). Been fully masked indoors at all times since 2020. 🤘you rock metal horns!
