The Epstein = Israeli asset conspiracy theory that’s emerging is just one step too close to classic antisemitism for me. People can be evil, rich, well-connected, and Jewish without their actions being part of an international globalist conspiracy.

Someone who was weirdly cruel to me for like 25 years for unknowable reasons has a really popular baked goods shop and all my friends post about it all the time and it always makes me feel weird to remember that a quirky cake person dislikes me so much.

I am not an apologist but if you think what happened in the Soviet Union in the 1960s/1970s is worse than what happened to Russia in the 1990s you are either deeply ignorant or intellectually dishonest.
the worst shit you remember about “communism” is actually what happened immediately after communists were violently stripped of power and gangsters moved in to privatize as much of the economy as possible

My boyfriend, who doesn’t really like long/serious movies or musicals, chose to watch two movies on our flights last month: Joker Folie a Deux (“did you know that was a musical?”) and the Brutalist (“I didn’t understand the ending but there were cool things about architecture”).
He finished both.

Weed may be less harmful than alcohol, but I swear to God it’s nearly impossible to talk to anybody outside of work hours anymore. It’s like talking to a five second zoom lag that can’t understand nuance and barely cares about anything.

I’ve been back in America for 3 days. In that time I have almost been in 3 car accidents, watched a teenager get arrested by police on the side of a road, & had to intervene as a maintenance man screamed at a homeless individual asking for change on a public sidewalk. We live in such a cruel country

International travel is always so weird to me. This morning I walked to get a croissant in downtown Copenhagen and now I am going to bed in Toledo Ohio.

Just learned that one of our mayoral candidates is abbreviating their slogan “Torres for Toledo” as T4T on their shirts and signs and I just think this underlines the importance of having one single queer person on your campaign.

Exhausting myself trying to keep my life together and going broke covering unplanned expenses while I watch my middle class dual income friends enjoy their weekends and support each other and go on vacation, wondering how much better my life if I had been easier to love.
