#Radonc representation on @NCCN Treatment Guideline Committees is <10%, even for committees that recommend #radiation.

Additionally, certain institutions have nominated relatively few ☢️👩‍⚕️ for their designated slots.

Lung cancer screening saves lives.

This month on Thoracic Surgery I have seen many patients diagnosed with lung cancer when it’s still early stage on screening!

Criteria: age 50-80, current smoker or quit in past 15 years, >20 pack year smoking history. #cancerprevention

HPV vaccines prevent cancer and save lives. As an oncologist in training, I regularly see the burden and suffering that HPV related cancers cause for my patients. It will involve continuing to build trust, but addressing vaccine hesitancy is vital. #radonc #gyncsm academic.oup.com/jid/advance-...

The prior authorization process has a corner of hell called peer-to-peer where you have to call and talk to a physician outside your specialty who works for the company

Finding time for them is a PITA

In my experience these are always immediately approved because you have jumped through the hoops
I did my first peer-to-peer for acute rehab placement and was shocked by how fast it was approved it once explaining why it was essential. To me, the worst part was keeping our patient who was medically ready for discharge hospitalized longer when they could have been getting skilled rehabilitation.
