Shoutout McDonald’s for having locations without changing stations in either their men’s or women’s bathrooms. Really helpful.

Even though it’s a completely practical thing to do at an outdoor mass, I always feel weird seeing vested priests wearing sunglasses.

Well, EWTN is really getting the most out of the commercial breaks on their YouTube channel.

As a church worker, I’m caught between feelings of mourning for Pope Francis and the anxiety that comes from the planning and rescheduling that must be done in his passing much like arranging your parent’s funeral. I suppose it’s only appropriate for the Holy Father.

Today’s New York Times Mini Crossword was an interesting way to find out that Joel Fagliano doesn’t know the difference between suspenders and overalls.

Remember Eisenhower’s farewell address where he warned of the rise of the military industrial complex, a system he helped develop during his time in office?
In his farewell address, Biden calls for:

An end to dark money

18 year term limit on Supreme Court Justices and ethics reform

A ban on stock trading in Congress

Amending the Constitution to say no president is immune from crimes committed in office

baseball's hall of fame voting system is actually very good; every ballot (the good one and the crazy ones) results in people talking about and thinking about players, and the discussion allows time for players' careers to be re-contextualized with a reasonably long view of history.

Please I am begging you. You don’t need to make a separate Instagram account for whatever it is you’re about to do. You can just have an Instagram and use it to share your life. Your dog is not cute enough to become a pet influencer.

Good. It’s horrific how other platforms abused their reach to strangle local, independent, and national outlets alike.

I WANT to see news and actual vetted work and I WANT journalists to get rewarded for it.

Because I want to live in a thinking human world over some AI generated slop dystopia

While we’re talking about Wicked, I’ve never understood why Stephen Schwartz isn’t spoken of in the same breath as Lloyd-Weber and Sondheim. Between Godspell, Pippin, Wicked, and doing the music for half of the Disney Renaissance, his work is everywhere even though his name isn’t.
