Thought I’d use this weekend by myself to watch films on my watchlist and make a start on my book chapter. Instead, I’m knees deep into the Martha Stewart documentary on Netflix, wondering how I’d feel publicly sharing some of the letters I wrote to my ex, and pinning recipes. Why am I like this?

Finally watched In a Violent Nature. Great concept and really well executed. I’d heard so many negative reviews of this I put off watching it for a while but I enjoyed it a lot more than I expected. Some the kills are very, very creative!!

Just rewatched Bram Stocker’s Dracula (or as my autocorrect wants me to say: Brad Stickers Dracula 🧛‍♀️ ) and I’d forgotten just how ridiculously HORNY this film is. Award for best Letterboxd comment to this one

5 days into January and I already feel wholly uninspired to get back to any sort of creative endeavour. What do you do to get yourself out of a rut?

Some thoughts I had watching Nosferatu:
Not a horror film, a Gothic MASTERPIECE.
Lily Rose Depp’s physical performance is outstanding.
Aaron Taylor Johnson is in a different film than the rest of the cast.
I want more cats, less cast
Is Orlof actually hot? No, well…. No? No (yes)
Too long

Reading friends’ 2024 highlights, and realising that it was a bastard of a year for most. Same here. Loss, grief and challenges have found me as well as work emails continue to do, but thankfully these lows were mixed with highs and moments of wonder, gratitude and joy, so there’s balance somewhere.

Seeing in the new year is definitely a thing of the past for me. I’m full of cheese (but not regrets) and trying to decide which film to fall asleep to. Recommendations for something worthy of an end of year snooze?
