Tom Lehrer has passed away. A reason he once gave for retiring from performances was "Political satire became obsolete when Henry Kissinger was awarded the Nobel peace prize." How much things have changed yet stayed the same.

Miss Lola is 10 years old next week! I saw her soulful eyes in a picture on our local Humane Society website 6 years ago - we were her 4th family. She only needed some patience, exercise & anxiety meds for her to get to live her best life. We love her so so much 💖💕💖

Please let there be a Free Press vs the Blade-esque story arc. Regardless, very happy news. I hope Oscar Nunez loves it in Toledo.

Old Lady Cattitude survived another random health threat! Shout out to my veterinarians who saved her yet again. Her kidneys are operating at like 25% so when she started getting sick again I assumed it was that. Nope, severe E. Coli infection.

I ran 12.26 miles in the rain! I’m ready to go all the way for this upcoming HM. This was a practice race & I finished in last place. I really get a kick out of that (tho it used to embarrass me). Running is stupid and I love it so much.

Friends, I know you're excited to try protesting, but under no circumstances should you ever sign up to attend one. I'm suspicious of any org asking people to put their name on a list that is easily accessible via warrant or may even be public. You can just show up day of.

Friendly reminder to check that you have at least one carbon monoxide detector in your home. Change batteries every year & replace every 8 to 10 years. Natural gas doesn’t naturally have a smell, but it is usually added by your utility & smells like rotten eggs.

Carbon monoxide, often called the “silent killer,” has no taste, odor or color, yet prolonged inhalation of the invisible gas is suspected in the recent deaths of several American tourists traveling abroad.

Here’s how to stay safe.

So much political discourse right now in the US is boiling down to "I didn't believe the bleeding person who told me the wolf at the door was dangerous to me. Because I thought the wolves only hunted them." And I don't know what people think can happen as long as that is still the conversation.

I saw a presentation yesterday where an “industry expert” claimed we can expect a 9 to 15% increase to current inflation. That was BEFORE yesterday’s “Liberation Day” tariffs were announced, and were worse than expected. I have no idea if these numbers are correct, but it paints a scary picture.

Maybe everyone can see it now, but the world's richest people have tanked it all to restock assets and get liquid after years of illegally playing with funny money. They used "the wokeness" as a cudgel and it worked. The next Disney princess WILL be white, as we all eat beans under the highway.

Fun fact: Myanmar, one of the world’s poorest countries, is the plastic waste dumping ground for the world’s wealthiest countries. I’ve seen many articles denigrating Myanmar for their lack of seismic force-resistant structures and how that has compounded a staggering death toll.

The death toll from a powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Myanmar jumped to more than 1,000 on Saturday as more bodies were pulled from the rubble of the scores of buildings that collapsed.

If you accept that non-citizens have no right to due process, you are accepting that citizens have no right to due process. All the government has to do is claim that you are not a citizen; without due process you have no chance to prove the contrary.

Whenever people in Britain and America like to laud themselves about WWII, I like to remind them that Britain and America both rejected Anne Frank’s family’s visas. They could have been a happy family in London, where Otto wanted to go, or New York.
