I have some lovely friends who I talk through ideas I'm unsure about with. They're great at asking developmental questions, but part of why we're friends is our similar tastes, so usually I say an idea I think might be *too far out there* and they're like

I often write SFF action scenes and monsters, but character relationships are always a major focus for me. So I end up asking, what traits would make it hard for people from these two groups to get along? How could they get past that? What hindrance could become helpful?

Probably Antelope Canyon. It's a culturally significant place for the Navajo people and absolutely gorgeous. Even if you aren't part of that demographic, just standing in it and admiring the brilliant colors of the canyon, you FEEL that there's something special about it #TBBChat #Writesky

I have enough ideas that I require myself to have a semi-solid outline for them before I'm allowed to start drafting. It helps satisfy the Shiny New Idea Syndrome without completely sidetracking me. Plus I love getting out my tarot cards for developmental journaling!
