Yep. It was a terrible choice. Until we get rid of the filibuster, the GOP will count on moderate Dems to bail them out and avoid responsibility for their own actions. With no more filibuster, the GOP will ride or die on its own without the enabling fixers. Only way voters know who did this to them.
i don’t play pundit and try to guess how stuff will play to voters whose politics generally make no sense to me, but if ending the shutdown was about the important business of getting SNAP benefits and air travel back online, it also rewards hostage taking in a way that seems pretty ominous to me

Mike Johnson still refuses to swear her in. At what point will political reporters start calling this a constitutional crisis?

There has to be a reckoning for this, for all of it. No more “look forward, not back” nonsense. Not this time. Those who ordered this evil shit, and those who carried those orders out *must* be held to account.

This has been coming from the beginning. All major democracy-supporting NGOs and foundations have their legal complaints already drafted. And in time, perhaps not even much time, they will win their cases. What is needed most in the meantime is courage. Keep saying what you think, doing what you do.

A great thread about the wide and deep coalition of religious people who are taking the good news of inclusive love, compassion, and justice seriously.
1. I’ve got a few minutes, so gonna craft a quick thread about something that hasn’t gotten as much attention over the past few months:
Trump has vowed to be a champion of religion, but *religious opposition* to his administration and policies is loud, persistent and, frankly, overwhelming.

There's no declaration of war, and no AUMF that covers this. Entering this war is wrong on the merits; we had a perfectly peaceful way to address Iran's nuclear program. It's also unlawful. A democratic republic should not be able to enter a war of choice on one man's say-so.
The US has hust dropped bombs on three Iranian nuclear sites, according to Trump, bringing American military forces into Israel’s war with Iran.

Just to say it again, the Big Beautiful Protests (the No Kings marches) involved 5 million people and were likely the largest day of protest in America EVER. News outlets that downplay this fact, are lying.
