Could NYT assemble a panel of genocide scholars, international law experts and Palestinians to debunk Israel’s excuses for obliterating Gaza?
After Trump's announcement about tylenol and autism, the NYT assembled a panel of experts, including an autistic person and a parent or an autistic person, to assess and debunk the claims.
It's a good model. I'd like to see them use it more often on more topics.

The number of people who joined a pro-Palestine march across Sydney Harbour Bridge on Sunday exceeded everyone’s expectations.
But just how many braved the rainy weather to urge the Australian government to do more to pressure Israel to stop the death and destruction in Gaza? That’s been a sticking point. Continue reading...

I skim read the Segal report & found myself so agitated I had to put it aside.
Ronni has taken a deep dive & done something Segal couldn't manage - a proper analysis.
Segal's report is exposed for the farce it is.

None of this passes the pub test - The Shot
Jillian Segal’s report, the entire double-spaced, decorative and glossy 16 pages of it, is largely insulting dross.

Laura Tingle speaks truth to power in her last piece on Australian politics.
Will Richard Marles read it do you think? He's been in Singapore with Defense Sec Hegseth talking about further deepening our ties with the corrupt US, considering even more largesse.

After 45 years watching politics, I’m signing off with a final wish
Putting aside the Coalition, let's focus on the new government: the one that has won an exceptionally large number of seats and which is probably already doing stuff that's affecting us voters.

what Labor does this term is not preordained, its driven by which groups work the hardest
The Libs & right wing media have just shown how little power they have

Nothing stands the way of Labor and ambitious, progressive reform
The big question now is whether the second term Labor government will make the big changes that Australians clearly want and need.

Something else leaps out here. This guy -
Has blurry, blinking eyes
Slurs his words on occasion
Seems to struggle with his balance
Has clearly impaired judgement
Is he drunk?
Wouldn't be my business, but he climbs into a car and drives off, and drunk drivers on the road is everyone's business.

The West will never be forgiven for its complicity in the genocide of Palestinians. No one will ever again listen to its empty rhetoric about accountability, human rights and rule of law. They have proven right those who long believed they did not see racialised people as human
