What a Trump presidency might mean for women’s health and health research in general. Canadians have past experience that we can leverage to prepare for our next government.

This is where collective action is needed if we all include diversity and its relevance to are research in grants& biosketches will they defend all of us?
Complying in advance is harmful. Some people can delete diversity from biosketches and grants I can't delete that I'm a black woman scientist.
Today I was told to take out a line about being a mentor to students from diverse backgrounds and historically underrepresented groups from my biosketch for a proposal, because it might damage our chances of getting federal funding.

How has it come to this? I feel absolutely sick.

We tend to think of hysteria as kooky medical history (like blood letting🩸) But hysteria is very much alive today in our cultural and medical conversations about women’s #mentalhealth. Where once it was our uterus, ovaries, or “nerves,” now it is our imbalanced brains and hormones 🧠
