“In what ways do you think the populations you serve will be worse off under the Trump administration?” This is one of the questions TBF, @massnonprofitnet.bsky.social, and @massincpolling.bsky.social asked in the MA Nonprofits Federal Impacts Survey. The responses we received speak for themselves.

“The fear of ICE has already created worker shortages, over 1,000 weekly absences in [our] public schools, and a stark decrease in attendance of our [program]. This is a heads-up for independent nonprofit organizations.

Make emergency plans, and secure your data.

The federal government's "Department of Governmental Efficiency" has broken into the US Institute of Peace. I've seen photos offices there that have been wrecked.

It's time to make plans for how your mission-based organization will respond to this kind of emergency. It's especially important to digitize your records, and arrange for secure off site storage.
