Hmm, an award-winning work of nature writing (from 2023) speculating that Woolf might not have walked into the River Ouse had she just waited a few more weeks for spring. "Nature cure" at its most extreme.

The saddest, one-eyed, not-really-a-great-auk at Leeds Discovery Centre last week. The gold paint streaks on the beak to indicate ridges suggest a taxidermist giving up.

So, after a temporary (15-year!) absence, we returned National Museums Scotland's mount of the #extinct Great Auk to the public exhibition (Early People/Beginnings, basement floor Scotland galleries) today! Have you had a two-bodyguard taxi ride in a custom-built case? 😉

I should really start preparing for my viva (PhD defence) next week. Or maybe the week after.

Does anybody have any tips they are willing to share, or maybe most likely questions for an ecocritical/envhum thesis? 🐝🦋

The “Touch Table” at Caerlaverock WWT is so fun & well done. Not sure my toddler was ready to understand skulls and skeletons but she liked the soft kingfisher’s wing.

Having fun playing with these this afternoon - Instagram filters by artist Hanna Tuulikki that turn you into five of the UK's threatened bird species. Curlew is the best! www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-engl...
