This is day 1. Time to play catch up!

No one is coming, it’s up to us.
All we have is each other. ❤️
Each time I have sat down to write something since the election, I am bothered by this recurring phrase that I simply cannot get out of my head.

So, this time I am going to just say it out loud: we are on our own. www.democracydocket.com/opinion/we-a...

Y’all ever hear the rumor about WY’s favorite TV Dr. having an illicit affair with Pete Williams when he was in Casper?

Or was this just a local thing? 🧐

Fair warning that if you get stupid with me in the replies I’ll absolutely show you what I mean about aggressively engaging bad actors.

Your kids’ kids will be born with an imprint of my foot on THEIR asses.

We’re not suffering fools.

::whispers:: Leak the document

Staffers of DC, you have the chance to do amazing work in the coming days, months, years.

You’ll still have a future after you get fired, probably even a better one.

Your country needs you to step up.

If Trumpers can do it, so can you!

“You think it’s January to an Ocelot?” is something that’s going to live in my brain for a LONG time.

GREAT line, and something to remember.
I wish people could step back for a second, think about how many of the things we think are true are complete constructions. There isn’t even any such thing as a calendar. Not really. A physical calendar is not the month, it’s just a representation. You think it’s January to an ocelot?

The biggest thing holding progressives back is the unwillingness to engage in actual attacks against conservatives.

We think that being factually correct and academic concepts matter to the electorate as a sum total. In reality it’s all emotion and always has been.

It’s a fight. Act like it.

There’s a reason they’re trying to tie it to specific people like Gov Newsom and Mayor Bass.

The climate crisis is coming home to roost, and it doesn’t care how wealthy or famous you are.
The LA wildfires didn’t just scorch the land—they wrecked sewer systems, knocked out power, and disrupted transportation.

The climate crisis isn’t some distant threat; it’s tearing apart the systems we rely on every day.

The LA wildfires are already estimated to cost between $135 and $150 billion in damages—and with thousands more homes at risk, that number may rise.

Due to climate change, California’s wet season is shrinking.

The key word being “fight.”

You’re in one, whether you want to be or not.

Act accordingly.
The criminal justice system failed to hold Trump accountable. It is not true that the powerful stand before the same bar of justice and no one is above the law.

Norms will not protect us. We need to build a new opposition hardened by reality and prepared to fight with every legal tool available.

Every single second they spend on doing dumb shit that doesn’t have a path to success (like this) is one that they’re not spending doing something worse.

Democrats hold both houses. Odds are that this will *never* see the light of day.

This is correct.
TikTok is a brainrot firehouse and a major contributor to mis and disinformation and the spread of conspiracy theories.

And that’s by design.

It’s time to pull the plug on the CCP’s influence operation on us.
If TiKTok wasn’t a benefit for Chinese intel, they would sell.

They could make a killing. But it’s not about the money
January 11, 2025 at 3:43 AM
They’re going to use “immigration” as the excuse to bloody up Gov Newsom as much as possible in the lead up to ‘28. They’ll also use it to prop up Abbot in TX and DeSantis in FL.

Lives will be wrecked, and we will all pay the price. Literally and figuratively.
