This detailed investigation of cortical variability in adults and neonates simply wouldn't have been possible @yrguo.bsky.social 's incredible patience and attention to detail. Cortical folding variability is considerable and outside primary folds doesn't align with functional borders.
Disentangling natural cortical shape variability from clinically relevant features starts with better characterizing its scale across large populations. Here, we introduce MSM-HT to parse cortical folding variability into a representative family of distinct anatomical motifs. 3/9
