If the goal is saving money, then illegally firing a substantial amount of forensic auditors that already work for the government makes ZERO sense. These folks typically did audits for those making more than $250,000 a year.

The DOGE is taking credit for “savings” that will never be realized. Terminating a contract doesn’t mean that the government gets that money back. It just means that no more $ will be spent, other than termination costs, on that contract. The info the DOGE is sharing on X doesn’t provide the
