Okay, rough day. Hard to even think of writing. Gonna read this Kazuo Ishiguro quote over and over today and do my best to keep going:

“But in the end, stories are about one person saying to another: This is the way it feels to me. Can you understand what I’m saying? Does it feel this way to you?”

: I love late-night TV. It’s a fun, crazy space — the spine that binds the book of my creative life together. I remember the thrill of staying up with my Mom to see The Late Show.

It felt like I was watching something I shouldn’t be.

It felt like New Years every night. 🧵

My friend was doing some video coverage at an HR conference last week and this was one of the slides for a presentation on AI in hiring and recruiting.

once again thinking about this passage from David Lynch's book Catching the Big Fish

Every time I watch Mulholland Drive, I live for the way the ending makes me feel — it’s like a chord change that suddenly harmonizes a movement that was discordant but interesting. It’s cerebral harmony, my brain flipping a switch during a dream, a sudden making sense.

God I’ll miss David Lynch.

David Lynch was one of the only filmmakers to ever accurately capture how dreams feel.

He was a master at portraying how things feel overall. Dread, elation, the sensory overwhelm of a loud club... The indescribable.

Truly a singular artist who had a huge impact on me.

This one hurts.
