I think "fake it til' you make it" is genuinely a great bit of advice but people (understandably!) think it means "lie until you've duped everyone" when in reality it's much more "act like you belong here because you actually do and you need to get over yourself"

anyway the thing about fanfic is that it's not essentially bad or good; it's essentially amateur. some people are absolutely out there writing award-worthy prose (some fic writers ARE award-winning writers IRL!), but that's not the point. the point is that we're all telling campfire stories. it's a community, and it's a way to spend some more time in the worlds and stories that we love.

Over the past few months, Tetsurou had become surprisingly fluent in Kei’s native tongue. Keiese—a highly specialized dialect of Japanese, of course—was built on sarcasm, weaponized saltiness, and layers of double-speak so slippery it occasionally veered into full-blown gaslighting.

And Tetsurou knew immediately what Kei was actually saying.

"I don’t like that movie you chose", meant: "I want you to take me to your apartment and fuck the shit out of me until I’m pumped full of your come and I cannot move and then you must hand feed me cake."

Tsukishima would be the one to remember Kuroo's birthday when they first meet. He'd stress himself out about sending a HBD text, but he eventually does and Kuroo doesn't reply until much later, after midnight, because he was busy all day -

OKAY SOOOO been thinking about nb Kuroo, and I think something that he would struggle with is the desire to explore androgyny, but feeling like he's "too masc" to get away with it, but simultaneously he doesn't want to present super femme either, and so he just feels kinda weird and off in his body
