It’s all hands on deck this month for SCIENCE!
Information Literacy means we depend on high quality data to make decisions. So much of our country runs on free federal data — we can’t let the minds behind Project 2025 decimate our Regulatory System.
@duolingoverde.bsky.social I miss the ❤️ system, Duo! The new energy system just isn’t the same.

Dear @washingtonpost.com , the firing of Karen Attiah is the latest in what I consider to be extremely detrimental changes at the Post, so I just canceled my subscription.

Washington Post columnist says she was fired for social media posts after Kirk was killed
Karen Attiah says she was fired for “endangering” her colleagues.

I’m having a dreadfully unproductive day. But in my defense, the #TinyDog is sending out serious snooze rays.

My local library just sent me a message: “Congratulations! You saved $182.30 last month!” And I got to read all that I otherwise wouldn’t have been able to afford to read. Clever library!

I don't mean to be the Mr. Rogers of Bluesky (I say "fuck" too much for that), but I did want to say for the new folks it's okay to be sad about the former Twitter, and everything that was lost there. I was sad about it too when I finally left. It's a real place with real memories. I mourned a bit.

so far the only explanation i've seen that doesn't smack of "if only she'd listen to me she would have won" is "global discontent with incumbents because of inflation and post-pandemic malaise + toxic information environments"

One of the things every new Bluesky user should be aware of is that at some point you will be put on both a “shitlib” block list by someone and a “tankie communist” block list by someone and neither of them will matter but you will wonder why you got put on both

Why would so many people choose a potential tax break over … basic human decency? It’s just WILD… 💔

When we let them dismantle public education, they win.
We can’t let them come for the Department of Education. There’s too much at stake.

We are on ULP strike. We gave @nytimes.com management months of notice of our strike deadline, we made ourselves available around the clock, but the company has decided that our members aren’t worth enough to agree to a fair contract and stop committing unfair labor practices.

in hours and hours of door knocking, I have not seen any GOP people out canvassing, have seen fewer than ten pieces of Trump literature on doors, and have only heard about one Trump canvasser (who apparently had bad data and kept knocking on solidly dem doors)

Y’all, the Election Anxiety feels a bit crushing this morning.

I am just clinging to the fact that my #Arizona early ballot for #HarrisWalz has already been accepted.

I have cast my vote for the #future of my #choice. Please let me know if you need #help making a #VotingPlan to cast yours.

If you have more money than time, I hope you'll join me in giving to the Movement Voter Project.

MVP acts like a mutual fund to invest in local organizers.

These trusted messengers turn out sporadic voters, protect the election, and keep working to transform policy.

The ideal use of Winnie the Pooh would be to insert him in the place of a crime-solving leading man in one of Milne’s forgotten whodunnits. I see The Red House Mystery – beloved by Raymond Chandler – as being the perfect backdrop for Pooh the gentleman sleuth 🐻🍯🔎
I kind of thought society would do more things with Winnie the Pooh entering the public domain than a single mid horror movie where he kills things. I thought we’d be more creative like Winnie the Pooh would be on Real Housewives of Atlanta and shit like that

it is vital that a harris win is substantial because otherwise this supreme court will entertain the baseless conspiracy that there is rampant noncitizen voting and will use that to give trump a legal win should it come to that
BREAKING: The Supreme Court allows Virginia to engage in a late voter-purge program that two lower courts held is likely illegal under federal law. The Republican appointees did so over the objection of the Democratic appointees.
