It makes me wonder whether or not its worthwhile to maintain a social media presence unless you have something to market. And then what is the point of social media if all we're ever using it for is to consume content from and rub elbows with content creators? Marketing and networking. Lame

The older I get, the longer I've used social media, the less I care about using them as social tools. These places are so incredibly sycophantic and self-absorbed that if you are not perceived as particularly high of station within your community, people (even friends) won't engage with you.
