Support local food banks but vet them first! I was warned today to avoid certain churches and nonprofits in my area because they are checking legal status before giving food. I'm not at all interested in supporting anyone who would deny food over documents. Check out anyone you donate to.

Get everything you need done as quickly as possible. Things could get challenging, especially if you live in a state that has always refused Medicaid expansion because those states generally have been shuttering hospitals for years. That's going to get a LOT worse.
Here's the problem - our health insurance costs are going to go insanely up but coverage is going to remain the same.

Denial of services, high deductibles, high co-pays, and prior authorization hoops to jump through.

We will pay much more while they sit on their asses and get richer.

Tennessee still loves trump more than they love Jesus.
A federally funded program that would have provided $156 million to low-income Tennessee families for solar panel installation has been terminated after several months on hold, the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation announced Friday. From @cstephenson.bsky.social.

Will we ever recover from the sheer terror of the times we spent on Chicago. The streets were a war zone. The allies were full of drug dealers. You couldn't walk around at night. It was so bad that we only go back once or twice or three times a year.

When this nightmare is over I want the future generations to demand absolute equality, defined and enforced nationally, for everyone and everything. Bring on the quotas.
The American Bar Association will no longer set aside five seats on its Board of Governors for women, racial minorities and other underrepresented groups under a change approved Tuesday by the ABA's policymaking body.

This is the most concise telling of the whole damn story ever.
One mistake Kamala made was forgetting that classic auntie wisdom: if the invitation comes last minute, don’t go. Because baby, if they wanted you at the table, you’d have been part of the seating chart—not the emergency folding chair in the back.
Correct. That’s exactly what I’m saying. The Dems need to find a way to short-circuit those tactics.

Her positions were fine, it was her delivery that needed work. To deal with a shark, you need to bring more firepower.

My daily dose of Coke Zero made me nostalgic.

My little brother always calls me Sissy or Sis. I sent him a picture and he assured me that he had that placed in the case at Walmart just for me. Lolol.

(By little brother I obviously mean that now middle aged man that shared a mom with me.)

Israel isn't in control of the United States. This is just who the US is and has always been.

Saying we're controlled is just a way of saying we're victims. We're not. We're an imperial power that likes war because it's profitable and enriches our oligarchs.

That's it.

With much trepidation, we just booked a cruise for our 40th anniversary. I'm going to need the world not to implode now because I doubt travel insurance covers that. We just need it to be peaceful so we can bop around the Gulf of Mexico on an oversized ridiculous boat.
