If you are applying to a PhD, don't use an LLM in composing your proposal.

If you are doing a PhD, don't use an LLM to do the writing and reading and thinking for you.

Sorry, I am going to die on this hill.

Can writing a scientific paper for the first (or fourth. Or fortieth) be a battle? Yes.

But knowing how to approach the process and what your collaborators, supervisors, and journals expect from you during that process lowers the barrier immensely.

The linked J. Chem. Ed. article above has this diagram connecting MO diagrams of N₂ with the photoelectron spectrum which I feel should be the complete image that all students learning MO theory should see.

I have never seen this idea in a intro chem textbook covering MOs.

Soft magnetic hysteresis in a dysprosium amide–alkene complex up to 100 kelvin - Nature
A dysprosium amide–alkene complex shows soft magnetic hysteresis loops up to 100 kelvin, arising from the high charge density of the amide ligands and the structural role of the pendant alkene.

Getting my presentation ready for WATOC next week. The last time I went was in Munich as a PhD student, and it was such a great experience (and it was my first time in Europe!). Feels weird to be presenting now as an independent researcher as it doesn’t feel like that long ago.
