Today at NorCon I met one of the Oslo museum curators.

ME: I am afraid I may have poked a little fun at your museum. But it was with love! I swear!
HIM: (eyes narrowing) The thread about all the shite?
ME: (meekly) …yes.
HIM: Oh, we all loved it!

Cannot describe how much I love this
I need everyone on Normal People internet to know that American Girl Doll Instagram is doing doll protests today. There are tiny t-shirts and signs. AND THEN I realized it's a joint protest with the Barbie ppl, where there are EVEN TINIER SIGNS.

Somehow, the future is both going to be a dystopian techno sci-fi hellscape AND we're gonna have coal and measles and robber barons and a permanent underclass.

Good work, Wisconsin!
BREAKING:

NBC News projects Susan Crawford wins the Wisconsin state Supreme Court race.

Crawford is the Democratic-backed candidate.

Elon Musk's candidate lost. Trump's candidate lost.

This exciting resolution from Rutgers University Senate is exactly the kind of model I think higher ed needs: a mutual defense pact of, in this case, Big 10 schools. They call for member institutions to create a joint defense fund and make resources available to any member institution under attack.

Zelda Williams (the daughter of the great Robin Williams) sure had a lot to say about the “Studio Ghibli style” AI images that have been trending recently.

I think those people should read these posts and really think about what they’re doing.

This. Citizens are not immune.
If you think what happened to Rumeysa Ozturk can't happen to you because you're a citizen and she's not, you are sorely mistaken. Ozturk was snatched off the street not for being a national security threat but for having a wrong opinion. If we don't put a stop to this, it's coming for all of us.

Trump’s new EO on voting exceeds his power—elections are conducted by the states. Congress, not Trump, has the power to legislate national standards they have to follow. So why would he do this? It’s about voter suppression & making it more difficult for people like you & me who oppose him to vote.
Trump just signed an exec order purporting to require a passport (or a few other docs) to register to vote. The president doesn't have the power to override a law passed by Congress. This is the SAVE Act but much worse. It is an illegal power grab that would block tens of millions from voting.

I will not be responding to any more Democratic fundraising pleas until I see the party, not just isolated individuals, DO something useful. That is all.

I want to laugh at this but also my mom haven’t gotten her March social security check yet. She has savings to fall back on and won’t go hungry but that’s not the case for so many.

The Trump Administration Accidentally Texted Me Its War Plans
U.S. national-security leaders included me in a group chat about upcoming military strikes in Yemen. I didn’t think it could be real. Then the bombs started falling.
