It ended up a busy and crazy end of summer and start of semester (I have FOUR classes...eep).
BUT I also got this thing finally published.
74 pages in Hesperia. Not bad for my first ever peer-reviewed article in a major journal!
You can check it out at muse.jhu.edu/article/970046

This is not a Canadian hot take.
It's just 22 year old CanCon fact.

Tim Hortons is trash: McDonald's has better coffee and Tims donuts went down the toilet when they moved to shipping fast frozen donuts to be reheated

Pro-tips for asking an instructor for a grade 'bump-up':
1. Make sure you've completed all coursework.
Asking for a 0.87 percent round-up to a B when you didn't attempt a quiz worth 5% of the course grade is not the best strategy.

This bunny has been on the front yard living his best life for a few hours this morning.

Dear @colmancreative.ca, I just went for a walk in the rain, during which I chugged a monster, got a coffee, and now have this at the event desk in Newcastle.
I may be able to see through time shortly.

But the measles will disappear when we're an independent nation-state, right????
Alberta has 560 confirmed cases of measles.
The entire US has had 1047 confirmed cases of measles.
Alberta is at 54% of their total and catching up.

I've been often noting the same thing. People in all sorts of areas of their lives have gone so isolationist basic skills of interaction have become a rare commoditiy.
THIS x1000
Not just for kids. You can print stamps at home now. You can go though days, weeks, months without interacting with other people. It erodes civility and patience.

Grocery pickup/delivery services can make life easier for parents. But I worry about the skills, knowledge, and independence kids lose if they're not grocery shopping with parents. And I worry about how this kind of outsourcing makes it easier for kids to devalue the labor-- and workers--involved.

I really hope this is an issue where the silent majority of Albertans who aren't usually active in politics finally tell these idiots to shut up and take their whinning elsewhere.
It's so incredibly frustrating to see media et al platform five angry guys and their fake stetsons...

Please explain to the class where this Book of Duteronomy is found.

Explain why Duteronomy is by far the most quoted book in the constitution then. Be careful about what you say, especially when you have no evidence to back it up.

I remember a time I subscribed to the EJ for the very reason I could read news without having to roll my eyes constantly at whiney columnists who long for the glory days of 8-tracks.

Just more evidence that humanity peaked circa 2006-2011.
Then we moved into the "Eatons/Woodwards idiot grandsons take over and drive it all into a wall" stage.

I lived in the USA during Black Mirror's first 4 series.
My bestie loved it and introduced it to me. We'd comment how almost every episode was on so on the nose. Yet they felt just a tad on the side of implausible in actual reality.
Welp....that sure was wrong of my gut feeling....

Raniero Mancinelli, 86, has been a tailor for about 70 years. He made the robes that welcomed the Pope today. You can read about him in the National Catholic Reporter (check the links in the IG handles below).
