But there's no point or purpose. Why are we doing this lesson today, kids? Because it's the next page in the workbook and that's how you "build knowledge." You do the lesson, you complete the worksheet, and you take test.

A2: New favorite Edtech tool is probably quizizz. Same kinds of gamification as other sites but less head-to-head competition (not as ruthless) AND an option for mastery learning. #EduSkyChat

A1: Classic Ed tech tool I rely on is Google Forms, especially the branching forms. Great for so many contexts. #EduSkyChat

A1: My grading philosophy is grounded in feedback feedback feedback. The point should be, by the time we do something that "counts", you've had lots of practice and feedback from me. All my kids have As? Excellent! Means they know the material. #UngradingChat

I’m in my last 5yrs teaching so I can start giving out my secrets. 😉
(i.e.) Randomly honor small groups of kids for: improved spelling scores, being helpful, volunteering, good behavior at recess, effort solving a math problem, etc… praise the effort, not the product.
