Federal prosecutor Maurene Comey, who worked on the criminal cases of Jeffrey Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell, and also a prosecutor in the recent trial of Sean Combs, was fired Wednesday, according to people familiar with the matter.

A record number of women have been prosecuted. Pregnancy loss is now considered extremely suspicious, even when it has nothing to do with abortion.

Last year, the county spent ~$100 million on LA Sheriff's Department legal costs -- settlements, judgements and lawyer fees -- making it again the most expensive county dept to defend.

BUT that was actually an improvement! The year before it was around $150 million
