The UK, where the day after a decision to take half a million children out of poverty, the media & political world has been full of sneering at those same children & their families, labelling them as ‘Benefits Street’, while the same people are moaning about a tax on £2m mansions. Shameful stuff.

Got to the last episode! This is a must listen ! Truly fascinating. Top notch Lewis!
Could not be happier that my new doc Coining It is top of the series charts. Testament to the incredible team at Free Turn and @globalplayer.com Thanks so much to so many of you for listening. If you haven’t yet- is perfect for a weekend binge.

Can’t stop listening! This is superb 👌
Was fun to turn up on the Scroll Deep sofa with the brilliant Benedict Townsend and team to talk about my latest @globalplayer.com podcast series, Coining It, as well as sneaking into Mar a Lago and why Keir Starmer needs to start talking about himself in the third person. Watch/Listen now.

Racists claps racist… imagine
The Reform UK conference gives a standing ovation to "special guest" Lucy Connolly, who pled guilty to stirring up racial hatred after she called for asylum hotels to be set on fire with people inside them.

Lucy Connolly was convicted of inciting racial hatred, and her tweet was part of the tinder that lit violence, intimidation, looting, and thuggery across England last year.

The fact Reform conference gave her a standing ovation says everything about that movement.

The Martyrdom of Saint Lucy
The right is desperately seeking to make a martyr out of Lucy Connolly in order to distract from the real victims of the hate she helped to spread, argues Otto English

Sarah Pochin said she will never be silenced. Although she's more than happy for all the journalists they banned from their conference to be silenced.

I’m bilious in the extreme
A new verb just entered the lexicon.

*To Witkoff* - to obsequiously flatter someone in such an overtly embarrassing manner that onlookers squirm with 2nd hand embarrassment.

Example: Did you see that Witkoff guy witkoff the President?
Witkoff: "There's only one thing I wish for: that that Nobel committee finally gets its act together and realizes that you are the single finest candidate since that Nobel award was ever talked about."

It sounds like they were really close, but couldn't quite get over a minor technical disagreement regarding whether Ukraine should be an independent sovereign country or an oblast of Russia.

Glad we all wasted our time on this and got Putin his photo-ops with POTUS under "Pursuing Peace" signs.
NEW: Trump on a Russia/Ukraine deal: “We didn’t get there…but we have a very good chance of getting there.”

Let’s wait to see if anything emerges from what was discussed. But on the face of it, Alaska is much as predicted. Putin has got exactly what he wanted, the legitimacy conferred by a Trump meeting and seeing off sanctions. He has given the US very little, if anything, in return.

Quite difficult to watch the press conference end on such a jovial note.
TRUMP: Thank you very much, Vladimir

PUTIN: Next time in Moscow

TRUMP: Oooh. That's an interesting one. I'll get a little heat on that one, but I could see it possibly happening

(Trump and Putin then leave)

This !
Extraordinary how much of the media is essentially trying to incite rioting now. Not just legitimise or normalise but actively encourage. It is, of course, unlikely to kick off anywhere near them.
